Our music library is updated monthly with the Hottest and most current Hits as heard on local Top 40 Radio Stations. We also subscribe to several Remix Services that provide us with "Exclusive Remixes" of your favorite Dance Songs. We play your Requests
Your D.J. will take student's requests or the student council may provide a list of "Favorite" songs in advance for the D.J. to play. Your D.J. will interact with the student body via the microphone to motivate the students to join in and participate in interactive dances such as: Cha-Cha Slide, Electric Slide, Macarena, Y.M.C.A, The Train, Cotton-Eye Joe and more!

Soundwaves DVD library is updated every month with the latest music videos plus we also have "Party Classics" like the Macarena, Electric Slide, Cha-Cha Slide, Y.M.C.A., The Train, and some of the greatest music videos of all time Add our "Live Video Camera" option to show action on the dance floor on the big screen! Chris Pyle has been invited to hundreds of proms. Pyle - owner of Spring Grove-based SoundWaves Entertainment - has been providing music for high school proms for the last 20 years, during which he's seen some drastic changes. From dress styles to technological advancements to moves on the dance floor, Pyle has become a prom expert.

"The way the kids dance . . . if you don't watch them, and if there aren't a lot of chaperones around watching, they'll do a lot of bumping and grinding," said Pyle, a 1986 Spring Grove Area High School graduate. "When I was a kid, if we would have danced like that, we probably would have been thrown out."

But nearly all school districts who hire SoundWaves Entertainment request their DJs to "watch the lyrics and the content of the music," Pyle said.

He has also witnessed some unique happenings at proms over the years. Pyle said one prom featured a horse and carriage to transport students. At another prom, a boy used Pyle's microphone to propose marriage to his girlfriend. "She said "Yes," Pyle said.

Big Screen Music videos have also become very popular at proms. Upon request, SoundWaves brings a Giant 10-foot screen on which students can watch thier favorite music videos and see themselves dancing and interacting with the videos to group participation dances such as the "Cha Cha Slide", YMCA, Cotton Eyed Joe and more.

"The last couple of years a lot more schools have been booking our music video show for proms! Eight out of ten booked the music video show" Pyle said.

Glamour and glitz will also be popular at local proms this year. From "A Walk in the Clouds" to "Once Upon a Time," juniors and seniors will dine and dance in ballrooms and banquet halls all across the region.

Daphne Leeder, a teacher at Eastern York High School and the junior class adviser, said a professional ice sculpture of a framed rose will complement the class song, "Photograph," at Eastern's prom.  Leeder also said aqua and silver - the class colors - balloons are planned to be dropped from the high ceiling of the Courtyard Room at Lancaster's Eden Resort.
