Soundwaves offers a wide variety of Music (Over 30,000 Song Titles) ranging from the Latest Top 40 Dance Hits, Rap and Hip-Hop, Alternative, Classic Rock, Disco, Techno/House, Country, Oldies and the list goes on. Our music library is updated monthly with the Hottest and most current Hits as heard on local Top 40 Radio Stations such as "99.3 KISS FM".  We also subscribe to several Remix Services that provide us with "Exclusive Remixes" of your favorite Dance Songs. These Remixes are usually played in "Under 21" nightclubs or on "Mix Shows" on Friday or Saturday nights on Local area Radio Stations. Our song titles are carefully screened and Edited for Language and content so they are appropriate for a school function!  We have a special "DJ Only" subscription that provides us with "Radio Edits" or the "Clean Version" of today's hottest Top 40 dance music!

We play your Requests
Your D.J. will take student's requests or the student council may provide a list of "Favorite" songs in advance for the D.J. to play.  You can also provide a "Do Not Play" list for the DJ if there are any particular songs that you prefer not to have played.  We can can fully customize the music to match your school's musical taste!  Your D.J. will also interact with the student body via the microphone to motivate the students to join in and participate in interactive dances such as: Cha-Cha Slide, Cupid Shuffle, Apache (Jump On It), Cotton-Eyed Joe and more!

FREE Special FX Lighting
All of our school Dance/Prom packages include our Special FX lighting package at NO extra charge! Choose from strobe light, mirror (disco) ball, fog machine, bubble machines, snow machine, intelligent lighting with red laser beams and our NEW state of the art GREEN ARIAL LASERS!!! This package includes different types of sound activated lights that create moving beams of light that react to the beat of the music! DVD Music Video Dance Party

We carefully screen our music videos for material that is not suitable for young audiences! Dance to all of your favorite music videos played direct from DVD and projected onto a single Giant 10' Diagonal rear projection screen. A second screen can be added for an even more spectacular show as pictured above!!! Soundwaves music video library is updated every month with the latest and most current music videos plus we also have "Party Classics" like the Cha-Cha Slide, Cupid Shuffle, Apache (Jump On It), Y.M.C.A., Macarena, Electric Slide, Cotton Eyed Joe and more as well as some of the greatest music videos of all time!  Add our "Live Video Camera" option to show all the action on the dance floor up on the big screen! Chris Pyle has been invited to hundreds of proms. Pyle - owner of Spring Grove-based SoundWaves Entertainment - has been providing music for high school proms for the last 20 years, during which he's seen some drastic changes. From dress styles to technological advancements to moves on the dance floor, Pyle has become a prom expert.

"The way the kids dance . . . if you don't watch them, and if there aren't a lot of chaperones around watching, they'll do a lot of bumping and grinding," said Pyle, a 1986 Spring Grove Area High School graduate. "When I was a kid, if we would have danced like that, we probably would have been thrown out."

But nearly all school districts who hire SoundWaves Entertainment request their DJs to "watch the lyrics and the content of the music," Pyle said.

He has also witnessed some unique happenings at proms over the years. Pyle said one prom featured a horse and carriage to transport students. At another prom, a boy used Pyle's microphone to propose marriage to his girlfriend. "She said "Yes," Pyle said.

Big Screen Music videos have also become very popular at proms. Upon request, SoundWaves brings a Giant 10-foot screen on which students can watch thier favorite music videos and see themselves dancing and interacting with the videos to group participation dances such as the "Cha Cha Slide", YMCA, Cotton Eyed Joe and more.

"The last couple of years a lot more schools have been booking our music video show for proms! Eight out of ten booked the music video show" Pyle said.

Glamour and glitz will also be popular at local proms this year. From "A Walk in the Clouds" to "Once Upon a Time," juniors and seniors will dine and dance in ballrooms and banquet halls all across the region.

Daphne Leeder, a teacher at Eastern York High School and the junior class adviser, said a professional ice sculpture of a framed rose will complement the class song, "Photograph," at Eastern's prom. Leeder also said aqua and silver - the class colors - balloons are planned to be dropped from the high ceiling of the Courtyard Room at Lancaster's Eden Resort.
