Your services exceeded our expectations! We
searched and searched for the right DJ and came upon Soundwaves
Entertainment and we are so happy we did. You played a
perfect variety of music that allowed all of our guests to enjoy
our day. You played every song that we specially requested.
Everyone keeps saying how much of a good time they had dancing!
The main attraction that everyone loved was our names being
projected on the wall above the head table. It was a huge
hit! We just want to say thanks again for helping to make our
wedding day perfect! We will definitely recommend you to
anyone we know looking for a great DJ.
Rebecca and Matt L.
"We booked Chris Pyle from Soundwaves as our
wedding DJ. He did a wonderful job. Not only was he really flexible with
allowing us to play a large part in choosing the music we wanted at the
reception, he did a wonderful job varying up our playlist. He also M.C.'d and took extra care to make sure that he pronounced everyone's name correctly, etc. The dance floor was packed almost immediately after we cut the cake. Our guests complimented the wide variety of music. Even the dinner music was done perfectly. My husband and our families are planning on using him if we ever need a DJ again."

What do you look for in your Wedding DJ?
1. Selection of Music
You will have a diverse age range of guests with different tastes in music, so you will need a large selection to choose from. Select from SOUNDWAVES 30,000 song titles from Big Band, Oldies, Classic Rock, Disco, Top 40, International Wedding Music, Country and more! Our music library is constantly updated every month to ensure that we have the most current hits in all music formats. You can pick the songs you like or the ones that you think your friends and family might like from our "Most Requested Songs". You can even create a "Do Not Play List" if there are any particular songs or type of music that you prefer to not have played. Your DJ will use your customized list as well as their skills to read and work the crowd to keep your guests on the dance floor. Your guests are welcome to make requests during the reception and your DJ will play as many as possible in the allotted time. This will help to insure the success of your dream wedding celebration by playing what you and your guests like to hear. Not The DJ!
2. Experience
You need a DJ who has worked with other wedding professionals to know what is needed, when it is needed. You need a DJ that can co-ordinate the timing of events with the photographer, caterer and you. Soundwaves Entertainers are Experienced Music Professionals. They program the right music at the right time to keep your guests on the dance floor! Your DJ will also help co-ordinate the timing of the reception events with the caterer, photographer, and you to ensure that your reception flows smoothly. All of Soundwaves DJ's have a minimum of 5 years wedding experience and most have prior radio, television or communications experience.
3. Equipment
You want a professional looking display to compliment your wedding day. Each of our Six DJ Systems are mounted in attractive cases that look appealing to the eye when set up. Weekly maintenance of each system insures proper functioning at every event.
4. Consultation
Chris Pyle will take the time to meet with you about your special needs and to answer any questions you might have regarding your reception planning. If Chris Pyle is not personally available to handle your reception, we also provide the opportunity to meet with the actual DJ that will be doing your reception prior to booking your date. Another appointment is normally scheduled with your DJ about 4-6 weeks before your date to go over music selection, bridal party names and the itinerary or timeline for your reception. Call us to schedule your free no-obligation wedding consultation.
5. Cost
Don't shop around for the lowest price DJ. You get what you pay for and this is not
the time to take a chance that you will be sorry when it's over. Don't base your
decision on price alone! We pride ourselves on being the most professional and affordable DJ service in the area. You may find another service that is cheaper but you will not get the same quality, reliability, and attention to detail and professionalism that you get with Soundwaves. Customer satisfaction is our main priority. DJ's can make or break your reception. You want a DJ to make your day memorable, not an embarrassment. There is no extra charge for set-up or tear down of equipment. Everything is included in one Event Price.
6. Contract
Protect yourself against the possibility of a disc jockey canceling a week before your wedding. After we accept a job, we never cancel. Soundwaves Entertainment is a Registered P.A. business carrying Full Liability Insurance for all events and venues.
7. Payment Plan
We offer a payment plan so you can book your date and pay your balance over time. Most of our clients prefer this option so they can have their account paid in full before their big day and have money left for their honeymoon. Once the initial deposit is paid, you can make payments at any time prior to your event date. I will mail you a receipt for each payment made on your account. Think of it as putting your DJ on layaway. We accept personal checks and all major credit cards.
8. Ceremony Music
Soundwaves can provide traditional or non-traditional wedding music for your ceremony as well as reception. If your ceremony is in a separate location from the reception we will set up our main DJ system in the reception hall and use a smaller, compact system with wireless lapel mics for the Groom and pastor so that your guests will be able to hear your vows. The use of 2 systems will eliminate the need to relocate equipment during your event. If your ceremony is the same room as the reception we will utilize our main system for the ceremony.
9. When to Book
It is recommended to book your date as early as possible. Most of our wedding clients book at least 9-12 month or more in advance to secure their date of choice. Our busiest months are May, June, September, October, and December. During these months we get many requests for dates for Proms, Graduation Parties, Homecoming Dances, Halloween, and Christmas Parties as well as weddings. If your date is within any of the above months, it is best to reserve your date 12-15 months in advance!

Client Testimonial: |
I have a lot of music on my I Pod or Laptop, Can I just use it instead of a DJ to play music for my reception?
Of course, you could always bring your own personal iPod and just play your own personal favorites that you downloaded from
ITunes. Of course your I-Pod doesn't come with a sound system and wireless
mic so you'll need to rent that. It also does not come with a light show.
It' can't take requests or "Mix" the songs which means there will be a pause
between songs where your guests will exit the dance floor. The most
important aspect is something that might not not jump out at you until the most
important day of your life: Who is going to help coordinate the details of your reception
with your photographer and caterer and other wedding vendors? Who is going to introduce the wedding party
and announce all the special dances and other reception formalities such as the
cake cutting and Bouquet toss? Who is going to introduce the Toasts? Who is going to help "get the party started" after dinner? Who is going to announce your First Dance? See what I mean. If you opt for this money saving route, most likely these responsibilities will end up resting on your shoulders and instead of relaxing and enjoying the greatest day of your life with your family and friends, you will suddenly have become the MC and DJ at your own event!
You could also cut corners with your food selection and have pizzas delivered to
the venue but is this a wise decision? Your friends and family might never let
you live it down. Yet some couple's don't mind doing something similar with
their reception entertainment.
Don't your guests deserve something better? Sure, Hiring a professional costs more than a do-it-yourself project.
But, is your wedding reception really a do-it-yourself project?
A DJ is a professional that knows through years of experience which songs to play and at the right time to keep your dance floor full with all your guests having a great time! This only comes from training and years of experience of performing at weddings and an extensive knowledge of music, equipment, and public speaking skills to make a successful event.
If you decide to hire your friend, he or she will be responsible for properly introducing the wedding party, the co-ordination of all the reception events and knowing how to get the party started and to keep it going for 4-5 hours or longer. Do they have a back up plan if their laptop were to crash? There are many things that can go wrong that you might not have even thought about. Unless your DJ friend is a true professional he/she may not have even thought of these small details that can mean the difference between a successful and memorable reception or a wedding nightmare.
Even if your friend or relative has a lot of music in their digital collection, laptop or I Pod does not mean that they know which songs will "Fill" the dance floor and which songs will "Kill" the dance floor. Say they have 5,000 songs in their library. There are 60 minutes in an hour. Most songs average 4 minutes in length. 60 minutes divided by 4 minutes per song = 15 songs per hour. If your reception is 5 hours long, 5 x 15 = 75 songs total that can be played in the allotted time frame. The other 4,925 songs don't matter!!! What makes the difference between hiring a professional DJ and using your friend is that a professional DJ will know exactly which 75 songs out of the 5,000 to play that will match both your desires and the desires of your guests to keep them on the dance floor without interuption. There is a genuine craft
to sequencing these songs in an appealing fashion, entertaining the maximum number of people at any one time (keeping the most people on the dance floor), yet managing a degree of creativity from one event to another to reflect the bride and groom's uniqueness and style. Even a person well versed in pop music does not have the intangible quality of being able to choose songs for an audience beyond their own musical taste or preference. Songs like "Cha Cha Slide, Y.M.C.A., Electric Slide, etc.. rarely show up on a personal MP3 player or laptop, as they are not great listening songs, but they're great party songs! A DJ is a professional that knows through years of experience which songs to play and at the right time to keep your dance floor full with all of your guests having a great time! This only comes from training and years of experience performing at weddings and an extensive knowledge of knowing which songs "Work" to make a successful and memorable event.
The bottom line is that, just as with anything in life, you'll get what you pay for. Sure you can hire a friend or use an I-pod with a rented sound system with nobody at the helm. You'll still be married at the end of the day. Just don't expect your reception to be the one that everyone talks about for years to come. You can also probably find someone who dabbles in the business as a side job and cuts corners by illegally downloading music for free from virus infested share websites and maybe things may go well if his laptop doesn't crash during the event Or you can hire a Full-Time, Professional, Reputable Company and pay slightly more for your own peace of mind knowing that " You're in Good Hands"!!!

Imagine this terrifying scenario:
You arrive at your reception and let the DJ (Your Friend) know that the bridal party has arrived and you are ready to be introduced. Your Friend (The DJ) scrambles to find the list of names that you emailed to him 2 weeks before your big day. He/she grabs the mic and starts announcing the wedding party without even walking out to greet the wedding party and make sure they are lined up in the proper order. After butchering some of your best friend's names and announcing some of them in the wrong order, you shrug it off and hope that all goes well for the rest of the reception. He/she announces your First Dance immediately after you are introduced and half way thru the song, you realize that the photographer is not taking pictures. The photographer, had not arrived yet and was held up in traffic. The DJ (Your Friend) did not notice this or even bother to check before introducing the wedding party and announcing the First Dance. Because of the DJ's lack of experience and inattention to detail, you will never have pictures to cherish of these two very important reception events.
Later on, after dinner, when everyone should be up dancing and having fun, you notice that nobody is on the dance floor. You wait patiently and think maybe it's still early, they will dance eventually. An hour goes by and still nobody has danced. Guests have requested songs and they are now making you aware that The DJ (Your Friend) has not played any of the songs they requested. (Your Friend) The DJ, informs you that the only music he has on his IPod are Hip Hop tracks. Your guests have requested a variety of music ranging from Oldies and Disco to Country and Classic Rock and even a Big Band song. Unfortunately, Your Friend (The DJ) was unprepared for such a diverse range of musical tastes. After an hour and a half of unedited Hip Hop tracks with explicit lyrics, your guests start leaving early before the party has even begun. Then you realize that you have not done any of the other reception formalities such as the Father/ Daughter Dance, Bouquet/ Garter Toss or the Dollar Dance. By the time you inform Your Friend (The DJ) that you have not yet done these very important reception events most of your guests have already left and your perfect day has turned into the most disastrous day you never thought could happen!
There are thousands of brides and grooms who thought they could just get a friend, family member or co-worker to to play some CD’s or use their I Pod at their wedding or special event and regret not hiring a professional DJ! After all the time, effort and expense you have put into planning your event, is it really worth risking the success of your once in a lifetime event to save a little money. After all, you only have one wedding day and only one chance to hire the right entertainment. Entertainment is the most important factor in the success of your event!

" Mark and I wanted to thank your DJ Rich for providing the music and entertainment for our wedding. We also want to thank you and him for providing the mics at the last minute for the ceremony. Everyone had a great time dancing and listening to the music. Thanks again for suggesting the "Anniversary Dance". It worked so nice. That was the first time I ever saw my grandparents dance!! Thanks again for a great job and for being a part of our special day. " Mark and Nancy |

" Craig was the DJ at our wedding. He was awesome. He confirmed everything before the ceremony, during downtime (pictures of girls, then pictures of guys). We gave him several songs we liked, and trusted him to pick others from his experience and by "working the crowd", by seeing what people were interested in. He was great. We couldn't have asked for a better DJ. " Denise A. |

" We wanted to thank you for helping to make our wedding an extra-special event for us. I've received many kudos on the music and your DJ services. You worked hard at making everything run smooth and were very happy with the service you provided. We also appreciate how easy it was working with you, accommodating our special requests and needs. Not just for the music but for other activities like the chocolate fountain. We have enclosed some pictures for you. I just wanted you to see how much fun everyone had, knowing you played a big part in that. We laughed about about the Anniversary Dance when Kim's grandparent's and my church friends were still dancing at 60 years and they both sat down at 61 years. You were very professional, and we will recommend you to others. Thanks again for a great day! " Dave S. |

" Wow! Were we ever impressed with Soundwaves Entertainment! They were professionals all the way. Our DJ, Craig, did a fantastic job of emceeing the event. The DJ's are really the people that you look to in order to organize the reception event and guide you through the various dances, events, and so on! I liked the wide range of song selections that Soundwaves provided. For us, it was important to have someone who was more laidback and less outlandish and crazy. We definitely had that. Another major thing that I appreciated was that Soundwaves made sure to get everyone's names right who was in the wedding party. At a recent wedding, I had to correct a DJ before they said the bride and groom's last name wrong! They really knew everyone's name. It made it feel so personable! People were up dancing until the very last song! It was a great time, for sure. " Melissa H. We wanted to let you know what a wonderful job Jim Anderson did at our wedding reception. He had everyone on the dance floor all night long and our guests still wanted more after the scheduled reception ending time!!! His music selection was wonderful. My Matron of Honor Sarah recognized him as we were being introduced into the reception and said to us " Hey, Jim did our wedding in 2008". At that point we all knew we were in for a night of Fun. We all had a BLAST! I just wanted to say Thank You again for everything. It was PERFECT. Please tell Jim we said Thank You for a Great Job! Mary Kate and Jason H. We just wanted to say Thank You for making our wedding so fantastic! It was everything I imagined!! You were absolutely great! Your music selection was awesome and you kept the dance floor rockin' all night! I can't thank you enough for making our special day so memorable! Kelly and Josh F. Soundwaves Entertainment (Chris Pyle) did a wonderful job. I was so pleased. This is one thing I would definitely NOT change!!! Prior to my wedding day, Chris was very helpful in working with me to organize the flow of the reception. He has a great deal of experience so he knew just what needed to be done and was willing to work with the concept of the reception for which I was aiming. He was willing to find any song that I requested and already had a expansive library of music. He even found an old-time tune for which I am named because this was the song to which my dad and I wished to dance. Chris came highly recommended from my reception site and from other reception sites I considered. I was worried about a DJ taking over the show but this was not the case. The music was perfect. My guests loved it!! People wanted to start dancing right away after dinner. My aunt even said to me, "I love the music he is playing, I just want to dance! I hope he plays good like this music all night." Chris did. He really read the crowd and had people on the dance floor dancing all night!! We even extended for a 5th hour (we already had him booked for 4 hrs. the price was so reasonable). People of all ages were on the dance floor and people I don't typically see dance. I had checked out many DJ's but Soundwaves was the best price and also the most personable. I find myself recommending Soundwaves and Chris Pyle to all the future brides with whom I speak. I plan to use Soundwaves for big events in the future such as an anniversary party for my parents!!! If you are looking for someone to do an excellent job and respect your wishes for your event. look no further Soundwaves Entertainment is it! Lara B. We are still getting compliments on how great the wedding and DJ was! Now when we go to other weddings we are always disappointed in the DJ because it is so hard for anyone to live up to the great job that Chris did. He was so helpful and for a bride that was pretty clueless about what she wanted, I was thrilled! I told him what genres we liked and some particular songs and we got exactly what we asked for. He took requests and was a great host. Thanks again Chris! Jaime To the Soundwaves team.....Thank You for helping to make my reception a success. Your DJ Craig Glatfelter's playlist was perfect! It was like listening to my own Ipod on shuffle. I appreciate you working with me and my vision for my event. I couldn't have asked for a more wonderful evening. Meagan H. Brett and I would like to thank you for doing such an amazing job! You did such a wonderful job DJing our wedding! We could not be more pleased! You kept the reception moving along exactly how we needed it to move! Everyone was very impressed when you pronounced the names of every person in the bridal party correctly and you also won them over again when you played a few extra requests at the end of the night as well! So again, we would like to thank you so much for helping make our wedding day such a wonderful experience! We have been suggesting you to our friends who are getting married next year! Ashley and Brett A.
